Proposed New Islamic Centre and Masjid
Assalamualaikum Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As you are all aware we have been looking to move to larger premises for some time, the current Masjid has served the community well over the past 23 years but as the community has grown over time, we have outgrown the current premises. At the current location we are able to accommodate around 350 people within the 2 halls and library plus another 200 in the outside spaces. Total of around 550 people.
The proposed new Islamic Centre and Masjid on Thorley Lane will be a modern state of the art purpose built Masjid, with the following features:
Space for up to 1800 people
2500 square feet over two and half floors
Set in a total site area of 1.6 acres
Basement body washing facility & wudu area
94 onsite car parking spaces
Onsite cafe
We are exploring various options for the roof space, one being a roof top area which can be used for weddings and other private functions.
Next Steps
Site has been secured with deposit paid
Raise one million pounds for site purchase
Pre planning application to Trafford Council, we are currently working on this and have had a few initial meetings with the council
Full planning application by the end of this year
Insha’Allah start the build in 2026
Move to the new Masjid in 2028
