Masjid Activities Cancelled

The Trustees had an emergency meeting on Wednesday 6th January to address the recent escalations with respect to the Covid-19 crisis, the evolving 2nd wave, and the emergence of the variant strain which reportedly has a stronger capacity for transmission. Even though the Tier 4 guidelines allow for places of worship to remain open for prayers, the general consensus from the majority of the Islamic institutions is that the safety measures put in place following the first wave may not be adequate to prevent possible transmission. We initially took the decision to suspend Friday Jama’at prayers as this posed the maximum risk. However, the past few days have seen an unprecedented increase in the number of cases across the UK including a rise in the death rate, and our hospitals are at breaking point. The Trustees have therefore taken the painful decision to suspend ALL activities at the mosque as of today including the 5 daily prayers. The last prayers will be Isha’ tonight.

We ask Allah (SWT) to guide us through this difficult time. We ask Allah (SWT) to grant us the wisdom, resolve, and Iman and to protect us and our loved ones from this adversity. We ask Allah (SWT) for a speedy recovery for our loved ones and for the protection of our Ummah. Ameen

Booking Slots For Jummah

Assalamualaikum,
Please use the link to book a slot for Jummah at the Altrincham Mosque. Please note that for the time being, due to limited capacity, we are only allowing Men/boys over the age of 12 years to attend. We would also advise elder members of our community to avoid coming to the Mosque, this is my dear Uncles for your own protection and wellbeing. Please remember to wear a face mask and bring a prayer mat and a bag for your shoes with you.
Jazak’Allahkhair for your understanding and co-operation.
